- Two Methods To Prime the ACT pump:
1.Fuel level in the center tank.
2.LH or RH wing boost pumps.
Method #1:(Note: #1) The center fuel tank must contain a minimum of 5511 lbs (2500kg) of fuel per amm28-25-00-869.
(Note:#2) The center tank fuel is used to prime the ACT fuel pump.
1.In the cockpit push (in) the ACT AUTO P/BSW (to operate the ACT fuel transfer pump) and make sure that the FWD legend on the ACT AUTO P/BSW illuminates. The ACT AUTO transfer-discharge line will fill with fuel.
2.After Approximately 10 seconds, release out the ACT AUTO P/BSW (to stop the ACT fuel transfer pump) and make sure that the FWD legend on the ACT AUTO P/BSW goes off.
Method #2:(Note: #1) The wing tank must contain 4000lbs (1750KG) of fuel.
1.Open L/H MLG Door.
2.Open access door 622KB (left main wheel well fwd bulkhead).
3.In cockpit push ACT auto pump P/BSW (FWD legend illuminates).
4.If L/H wing tank is to be utilized, select the fuel XFEED P/BSW ("ON" legend illuminates)(shows inline on ECAM).
5.Push the L/H or R/H wing tank pumps #1 and #2 P/BSW(Green inline on ECAM).
6.On the Defuel/Refuel panel (800VU) put the mode select switch to "Defuel XFR" position.
7.At the L/H MLG wheel well door (622KB), Put a non-metallic rod through the ACT cover and push/hold the manual plunger on the ACT refuel valve for approx 10 seconds, then release.
8.Put the mode select switch back to the "OFF" position on the refuel panel (800VU).
9.In the cockpit, turn off the wing tank pumps.
10.If the left wing tank was utilized, release the XFEED P/BSW ("ON" & "OPEN" light extinguishes).
11.The ACT pump is now primed and should be transferring to the center tank.
